Hello everyone, I hope you're doing well today. Development on Lucky Newt / Project BlueGloves has been going steadily so far. So here are some of the new updates for October that I’m sure interest you.
I am still working on planning content for the paid subscription which as I said before will be more content exploring Lucky Newt’s world and personal adventures through comics, character details, early access to merchandise, and more.
I now have official social media being: Twitter and YouTube.
These accounts will be hosted by someone else so please don’t try to communicate with these accounts thinking that it’s me.

Amelia Axolotl™
Amelia Axolotl is now here and ready to go! Amelia Axolotl Nedley Newt’s girlfriend will also be making her debut in the first Lucky Newt game. She will be an unlockable character after completing the game. Her move set will be different than Nedley’s so look out for the interesting new things you can accomplish with her. She will also make her debut in the first issued comics so keep an eye out for her in the future.
Voice:
I haven't shared much about who will be voicing my special characters, but when it came to Amelia Axolotl, I instantly knew who would be the perfect voice for her.
Me! …
No just kidding, I am pleased to announce that the voice of Amelia Axolotl will be my dear friend Alehiza Soto-Arreola. I chose her because I know that she will make an excellent performance as the character and will ensure that Amelia will be done justice, way better than I could’ve.
This is not the end for new characters to be revealed however this is it for this month. At least until the infamous
Salazar
awakes…
Prototype Gameplay:

Sandbox Kingdom:
This is the first development update on Project BlueGloves concept systems and gameplay/design mechanics.
Walking On Walls:
The main overarching mechanic in Lucky Newt is the Newt’s ability to walk on multiple surfaces which offers a different perspective to the gameplay and challenge.
How?:
After watching the video you might be wondering how these characters can walk up surfaces or better yet jump on them without falling down. Well, some may say that it is because Newts are sticky however, this is not true all the time as Amelia isn’t a sticky species herself. They are in fact given the ability from their colorful Blue Gloves. There’s something special about them that you’re going to have to learn more about later.
There are no enemies developed for the prototype however they’re planned to be implemented in the future.
Game Design:
The game is going to revolve around walking/jumping onto multiple angled surfaces to reach your goal. These mechanics will be combined with platforming obstacles to create a wacky/mind-bending gameplay experience.
For Example:
1: The small level in the prototype starts out by leading the player to their first obstacle after figuring out the wall walking controls. The orange rotating elevator panel is in a safe environment with no pits to fall or damage to be dealt. It’s simply like an elevator that with the player’s wall-sticking ability can take to reach a new part of the level.
2: Now we introduce a new gameplay obstacle which are the new sideways rotating panels that limit your ability to jump from platform to platform. It’s still in a safe environment however if you fall down the only punishment is the requirement to restart from the beginning.
3: Last we combine the two ideas into one final challenge where there are fast sideways rotating panels that the player has to jump through while being upside down and at the end, the player has to time their jump correctly in order to land perfectly on the rotating elevator panel which leads them to the finish.
This is how all of the challenges in the open worlds of Lucky Newt will be created. Introducing a new gameplay idea and ultimately leading the player to their reward/destination somewhere else free to continue exploring the level.
Thank You for reading the latest update to Lucky Newt. I hope you’ve enjoyed what has been shown so far to the point you want to share it so please do!:
A release of the prototype for playtest is being considered so stay informed to know how and when it will be released.
